In 2026, I created a faux athletics collection themed around the Pokémon Kubfu.
When I studied abroad in South Korea I was taught a phrase by some of my friends, "Fighting!" This was said as a way of saying, "Good luck!" "You can do it!" or "You got this!" This phrase stuck with me throughout the years and has become something I return to when things get difficult. Kubfu is a Pokémon that reminds me of this idea, of persevering and training hard, and is why I wanted to create a collection focused on it.
This collection features 8 various hard/soft good designs including a hoodie, women's athletic leggings, men's shorts, a yoga mat, 2 different water bottles, a tank top, and boxing gloves.
As there are very few official vectors of Kubfu, I illustrated each vector by hand on Procreate and then transferred them to Illustrator to vectorize. The fonts used for the project were Driving Around and Benitsuki.

This was an incredibly insightful exercise that got me in the headspace of designing an entire hypothetical collection with many different pieces that still maintained a core design identity. Kubfu remains one of my favorite Pokémon and this exercise helped me appreciate the little guy even more.
